We need you on our support team.
Your monthly giving, great or small, is needed now, more than ever.
Because of your loving support, Siempre Para Los Ninos continues to rescue children and has given kids, the opportunity to be children, in safety, since 2004.
18 years doesn't seem possible - then I look at children like Ashley, one of three girls at Siempre preparing to celebrate with a quinceañera (their 15th birthday - a very big deal for a girl in the Hispanic culture), this Saturday afternoon.
There's going to be a crowd. Wish you could be there. I asked the girls if there was anything they needed from me:
"Wear your tuxedo!" was the immediate response. Had to let them know that though I may own 3 tuxedo's - none of them currently fit!
"Rent one!" Yea... that's not happening... but suddenly I could understand the advantages of clerical robes. Don't think they need to be tailored to adjust for "pandemic pounds!"
So many wonderful moments have been shared as we've watched the kids grow up... and then new children are entrusted to our care.
Ashley was being very patient with little 7 year old Ruby - with us just a few weeks - and when she celebrates her quinceañera I'll be over 75 years old!
Ruby had almost no time for Elizabeth, 8, or her younger brother Manuel, just 4. They both speak English beautifully and that kind of gives them an inside line with me - considering my Spanish...
Manuel can't walk - but he tries so hard and has such a cheerful attitude. We've been given a couple of diagnoses from doctors. They're setting up a plan. His sister thinks they're wrong about his condition. She has childhood memories filled with trauma...
I have no idea... but I know where they came from and what the situation was and I see little children begging at the border - often those who can't walk or have a deformity - and I thank God for Siempre, our amazing workers - who each deserve so much more than we pay them, and I remember the first day Ashley came to Siempre, 8 years ago, and the incredible young woman she's becoming. Growing up with a future and a hope...
and I thank God for each of you... those who've made this miracle - and believe me, Siempre Para Los Ninos is nothing short of a miracle - possible.
You're Invited to come and share Manuel's journey into healing and growth, his supporting sister Elisabeth's loving life and little precocious Ruby - the next 8 years will be so important for her... you can see that she's safely raised up into the life she so richly deserves and protected from those who would exploit her joy and do her harm.
Consider giving here on fb or setting up a monthly donation at our website www.siemprekids.org
The years go quickly by... your loving partnership in raising up and building Siempre is essential to the success of the children with us now and all those who need us yet. We have room for so many more... just not the financial resources...
Help us share the loving protection Ashley received with all those in harms way who still need us.
Give generously. Give for life. Don't miss your miracle
and thank you...
to each of you who've made this possible...
thank you so very much. We're celebrating Saturday! ... See MoreSee Less
Dulce and Ayleen, Fall semester, 2015. First time in school uniforms.
They're both still at Siempre Para Los Ninos - growing up into beautiful middle schoolers - and now that the pandemic closures of school are behind us, they and all the rest of Siempre's kids need new uniforms.
Just got the message - $910 for middle and high school age kids - no clue how much more the little one's uniforms will cost.
Some of Siempre's kids are absolutely brilliant. Many others show the signs of poverty and neglect in their education. Every one of them deserves the very best we can give them.
We've had one of the local teachers on our campus through the pandemic to help keep the kids going, running a reading program and assigning work daily. She's incredible and the children have done an amazing job.
Back to school for some of them begins next week. Meaning we need $910- for the specific color for their middle school and high school now.
A good friend tried finding them here in the states - without a whole bunch of luck - plus, the kids get to pick out one outfit that they'll wear everyday for the next year - so it's kind of a back to school outing for everyone.
If you'd like to cover the cost for one child - about $90- or all the teens - $910- Please don't hesitate to send a check, give at Siempre's website, donate through fb or stop by with cash... we can go to deposit it together and then stop at Starbucks!
7 years ago those sweet little girls were abandoned into our care - now they're teenagers... - where they are 7 years from now depends so much on our support today.
Thanks so very much for loving Siempre's kids. You and your continued love, prayers and financial support makes each and every day of their lives at Siempre possible.
The amazing lives they're yet to discover are out ahead of them. I can't wait to see what's going to happen!
Give generously. Please.

"California produces nearly half of the nation's fruits and vegetables, yet 1 in 5 Californians — that's about 8 million — currently struggle with food insecurity. “Food insecurity” is the occasional or constant lack of access to the food one needs for a healthy, active life." (from California Food Banks)
Memorial Day Weekend always meant building trips to Mexico for Central Community. Houses, churches and of course Siempre Para Los Ninos are all the result of the hard working, generous people of Central Community.
The Pandemic required that we transition some of our work back into Southern California as families were in need of food on their table.
We haven't neglected Siempre. We were there Wednesday - and was able to "smuggle" across a load of fresh brussel sprouts - and other food. A team from a long time supporting church is crossing this afternoon with a van load of food and will be spending some time with the kids and a group from a local university is going next month. And we were able to help out with the refugees from the war in Ukraine while there were in Tijuana.
We've been busy. When you'd like to head to Siempre, let me know, we're ready for you!
All that to say that this Memorial Day Weekend we're expanding food storage space here on the campus at Central Community and you're invited!
There'll be a job for everyone - from heavy lifting and building to standing and painting - you will be welcome.
Great memories will be made around the table - I've seen the food line up - and it includes everything from Kona Pig to home made peach cobbler. It'll be worth coming just to hang out and eat together!
If you don't have plans - plan now to join us for Saturday at least. If you've got plans, but aren't excited about them, change them and come share with us. Everything we do will make our Wednesday food distribution to the community more effective and our food storage more efficient.
People need us. California is among the wealthiest places in the nation - in the world - food's abundant... but so very many remain left out and overlooked. We have the opportunity to help meet their needs and we do everything best when we do it together.
I'm attaching a photo of the sign up sheet with the schedule. Pastor Ken's ordering materials and if you don't come it'll be a pretty lonely weekend.
Let's work together in a way we'll remember this Memorial Day for years to come. Whatever you do, don't miss your miracle! ... See MoreSee Less

Abandoned at Siempre nearly 8 years ago.
Never a family visit in all that time.
Celebrating new socks from Bomba.
(you buy a pair, they donate a pair)
Thankful she doesn't understand what her t-shirt says in English:
"Best Daughter Ever!"
An amazing kid. Thanks Bomba's.
Thank you for your continued support across the years. Without generous, supportive people like you, who knows where she'd be today?

What happens when you support Siempre Para Los Ninos and the ongoing work of Central Community?
Infants - like little Maria Isabel - are given a home and raised up in love.
She's a handful - and I can't begin to imagine what the next six or seven years will be like - until I look at the amazing young women growing up in Siempre's care and setting an example for her.
This work, these children, are so worthy of your continued support.
Thanks so much to each of you who made 2021 possible for Siempre's kids. They haven't been in school since 2020. Nearly two years. Imagine the stress on the staff and the loss of learning that's taken place...
Please keep them in your prayers and your family finances for the year to come.
And when you get a moment, whisper a prayer for little Maria... she's growing up so quickly!
Thanks so very much for your part in all we do.

Leaving Siempre and little Myra ran up to me and started speaking to me earnestly in Spanish.
I'd been busy with our Director most of the time I was there and when Maria translated for Myra she was saying:
"You're leaving already?"
I took a few minutes to speak with all the children reminding them that I drive down each week not because of the buildings, property or even the staff but Siempre's kids - they are the heart of Siempre and the reason for our work.
I look forward to the Wednesdays when all of us can travel freely to Siempre again and when our children are able to return to school.
Leaving, I gave them homework. Asking the older kids to spend an hour each day reading with the younger children.
Thanks for your continued support. It's so easy to feel isolated in these challenging times. Your prayers and support have been effective and Covid has left the household and all the children 12 and over receive their second vaccination Thursday.
God is too good.
We're not alone. We have great work to do together and together we're making a difference for good.
Don't miss your miracle ❤️
Someday we should all be so fortunate to have someone hold us in love and say:
"You're leaving already?"

"It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus." are words from an old hymn.
I think of it often when looking on the faces of the children of Siempre. I see Jesus in them.
Thank you for another year of generous support to care for children abandoned into the loving arms of Siempre Para Los Ninos.
Maria came to us as a baby. She's grown so quickly and loves having a home and care - thankfully she's never known the streets or hardship of children out in the rain in Tijuana,
From the heart of children and leaders who've lived through a pandemic - without school to go to - sequestered at Siempre Para Los Ninos for so very long... Merry Christmas!
May God richly bless you all in the days to come and give you reassurance that "It will be worth it all," whatever battles you're facing today.
Merry Christmas! ... See MoreSee Less
Jackets for Jesus, Siempre Para Los Ninos, our Weekly Food Give Away - and Thanksgiving... that delivered over 1,800 meals this year and fed many more here on our campus.
And oh yeah - there's a Bible Study going on now, the food packing team is working, Pastor Ken's putting out backpacks for Jackets for Jesus Christmas Party on the Streets as well as filling our lobby with boxes for Christmas at Siempre.
and we're a church - online each week (with over 900 views as of Tuesday morning - and thankfully open to everyone again with our children's ministries at 10am.
There will be millions of pleas for #GivingTuesday. Not going to say we're the most worthy - but this story touched my heart.
A first time volunteer at Thanksgiving and her adult daughter were in our 8:45am service this week. Greeting them after the message, mom said to me:
"Thanks so much for letting us volunteer on Thanksgiving. Delivering meals was about the most gratifying experience I could ever imagine.
I'm 91 years old and out of 91 Thanksgiving's that was my BEST EVER! I've never been to a church like this. We just felt the difference coming in. I can't wait for next year!"
I set a goal of raising $30,000- to get us through the extra expense of Thanksgiving a BIG new project to help with our Food Give Away and around the church in general.
We're about $12,000- short. This would be a FANTASTIC DAY, on #GivingTuesday, to reach our goal.
Thank you for supporting our work throughout 2021. Please help us meet our goal by giving to the link for Central Community, the paypal link for Siempre, through fb, or message me and let me know that you've sent your continued support to:

Thanks so much to Jamie, great friend to Siempre's kids, who donated her car!
Wednesday afternoon Pastor Ken completed all the DMV work and delivered it to Yara, Director at Siempre Para Los Ninos.
It will be a blessing for years to come.
If you have a car, truck, SUV, boat, plane or property that's just waiting to be a blessing - donate it to Siempre - it will be used in wonderful ways and change the lives of children, abandoned into our care.
Contact us. Pastor Ken's an expert at all the paper work and makes it easy.
Thanks for your incredible generosity Jamie. Can't wait for you to come and visit Siempre and see your gift at work ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Ron came with me to Siempre Para Los Ninos today and brought 24 new soccer balls for the kids. Fully inflated, packed in 40 gallon trash bags.
After the car was emptied of all else, Ron began to rain them, unexpectedly, over the top of the SUV, Siempre's fence and into the children at play.
Joyous pandemonium and laughter broke out as kids caught, tossed and kicked balls as if for the first time.
What fun and so very needed.
It appears that Covid 19 may have come to our little Colonia, as well as Siempre again.
Those who serve in love are waiting for test results.
Siempre's kids, staff and leadership need our prayers, now, more than ever.
The trauma each of the kids carry is so well hidden and I can't begin to imagine how much the challenges of the past year have exacerbated them.
Everyone is excited about the possibility of getting back to school.
Breaking free of the gates and out into the world again.
Join me in praying healing and protection over these final days of preparation to return to some sense of normalcy.
Today was a very good day.
A break from the challenges we've all faced during the Pandemic.
So very thankful for those who serve and share through times like these and praise God for people like Ron, who in the middle of a busy life, take a moment to shower Siempre in love and soccer balls.
God is too good.
